Speaker Bios
Patricia Cicero has a MS in Water Resources Management from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Mathematics from Kenyon College. She has worked on water resource issues
for the Jefferson County Land and Water Conservation Department for 12 years.

Paul Garrison received a BS and MS from Montana State University and has been employed
for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources since 1977. He has worked on a variety of projects
including lake restoration and classification. He has worked on a variety of lake problems including eutrophication, acidification, and mercury pollution. He is particularly interested in long
term trends in lakes, especially using paleolimnological techniques.

Susan Graham has worked in Wisconsin’s inland lakes for 20 years with the Wisconsin Department
of Natural Resources. She has a BA
in Botany and an MS in Water Resources Management from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.

Gina LaLiberte earned a BS in Biology and a MS in Resource Ecology Management from the University of Michigan. She also did graduate work at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She has worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources since 2000, specializing in paleolimnology and aquatic bioassessment using algae. “I enjoy working with algae because many species are beautiful, and because there are interesting things to be discovered in every sample.”Gina.LaLiberte@Wisconsin.gov, 608-221-5377
Michelle Nault moved to Wisconsin in 2002 to attend the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with degrees in Biology, Zoology, Conservation,
and a certificate in Environmental Studies. She has worked as a lakes research scientist for the Science
Services division of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for 5 years,
and conducts research on aquatic plant ecology and invasive species management
throughout the state.
