Minutes from April 19, 2006 board meeting
Lake Mills Municipal Building 7 p.m.

PRESENT: Karl Vonderohe, Milt Strauss, Jim Colegrove, Margy Krueger and Stan Smoniewski
SECRETARY’S REPORT – No report because Secretary Larry Everson absent.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Jim listed financial activity from March 1 through April 13, 2006. Balances were RLIA Checking, $3,950.34; Lake Management, $2,438.43; and RLIA Savings, $4,092.14 for a total of $10,480.91.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
            Publicity/PR: Milt said last year’s membership brochure has been updated with minor changes, and he is consolidating duplicate address lists before new brochures are mailed. Discussion held on which addresses should be included in the mailing.
He will send in the entry form for RLIA participation in Town and Country Days Parade on Saturday, June 24, and the association will have an exhibit in Commons Park during the festival Friday and Saturday, June 23-24. There is no entry fee for non-profit organizations. RLIA will also have an exhibit at the Fall Festival on Oct. 1. Margy will distribute left-over brochures from last year to Lake Mills area businesses.
Tee shirts have been re-ordered. Johanna Chworowsky has said she will sell the shirts at the Farmer’s Market this summer on Wednesdays in Commons Park.
Rock Lake Joint Committee: Stan said the committee discussed the following topics - How to spend the remainder of the grant money for the Long Range Management Plan; Lake Mills Town Board supports the ban on phosphorous in lawn fertilizer, but the city has not yet indicated its support; grant money will be sought to make improvements to the parking lot at the north end of Rock Lake; uniformity of boat launch season passes; silt fencing is undermining new plantings in Korth Bay due to high water levels; maintaining the lake level; and possible dredging of Korth Bay.
Long Range Plan for Rock Lake: None – Patricia Cicero absent.
Adopt-A-Lake: Stan said annual Rock Lake Clean-Up Day will be in May.
OLD BUSINESS
            WAL Convention - Stan and Karl will attend the convention in Green Bay.
            Membership Renewal – Jim has a membership list with 132 names.
NEW BUSINESS
            Water Depth - Jim suggested funding a water flow study with the remaining LRP grant money. The topic will be on next month’s agenda for the RLIA.
            Interim Secretary – Margy will take meeting minutes for Larry on an interim basis.
