Rock Lake Improvement Association (RLIA)
Minutes – Monday, January 28, 2008

CALL TO ORDER: at 6:05 PM
Attendees: Board Members: Milt Strauss, Johanna Chworowsky, Jim Colegrove, Scott Johnson, Tom Pezzi, Stan Smoniewski; Guests: Patricia Cicero

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Minutes of the January 16, 2008 Meeting were accepted.  Decided to include a link to SB197 but not to include John Mum’s documentation as noted on the minutes.

CORRESPONDANCE:
Board reviewed and approved a letter in support of SB 197 generally prohibiting the use of fertilizers containing phosphorous to Rep. Gunderson.  The letter to Rep. Gunderson will be posted on the web site.

NEW BROCHURE REVIEW:
The new RLIA brochure and membership mailing envelope was reviewed.  The current brochure was updated.  The Board decided to send out the remaining mailing envelopes.  Changes were made for printing the new envelops.

MAILING LISTS:
Mailing List Problems – Patricia received a list of businesses and government agencies from the Land and Water Department.  Jim will clean up the list, eliminate any duplicates and integrate into the current mailing list.

MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR ROCK LAKE (Continued):
Between now and the next meeting, please review the list of priorities.  What actions can be done quickly?  What are actions that would you like to be a champion for?  What actions does the entire Board need to do?  What actions can one or two members of the Board lead and accomplish by themselves? Are there actions that we can involve other members in?  Next meeting we will discuss the priorities.

OTHER:
RLIA web site - The purpose of the RLIA web site has been to include major documents, decisions (such as a management plan) and actions that have been included.  The site has not included current events beyond the monthly minutes.  It has been fairly static.  The Board decided to make the use and purpose of the RLIA web site an agenda item for a future item.

Regularly Scheduled Meeting Date and Time - The Board decided to e-mail the members as to three possible times:
6:00 PM the third Wednesdays
6:00 PM the second Wednesdays
7:00 PM the second Mondays

Meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM
