∑ Karl, Hope and Milt will develop the slate for the August Annual Meeting
Lake Monitoring

∑ Guest – Laurie White
∑ The lake seems to be getting cloudier over the years
∑ At least 15 readings are taken each season
∑ Mud Lake, Wet Lands and South End runoff may be contributing to the
cloudiness
Possible Actions
∑ Communicate with the City and the Town of Lake Mills. Approved unanimously
∑ Obtain a grant to do a lake study to identify the cause of the cloudiness

∑ Stan and Russell will comprise the Committee. Patricia to advise. Johanna
to approve communications to the City Public Utility Committee and the Town
Canada Geese

∑ Johanna coordinated the goose count.
∑ Goose count was conducted on Thursday morning, June 27, 2002
∑ Andy Krueger did not count at the Sand Hill Campground. He did estimated.
∑ Goose Count total was 347.
∑ The Golf Course and Setz are willing to contribute to a program to get
rid of the geese

∑ 60,343 Walleye small fingerlings were put in Rock Lake. 8,000 more will
be added
∑ Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel had an article on the large Bluegills in
Rock Lake

∑ 120 seedlings of prairie plants will be planted.
∑ The County is hiring a firm to develop 2 possible shelter designs
∑ A connection to Glacier Drumlin Trail is being negotiated.

Rock Lake Joint City/Town Committee

∑ New Chairman – Pete Ebbott
∑ Pier Ordinance –City has taken it’s own path with a Pier
“only” ordinance. The Town is in a “wait and see” mode.
∑ The buoys have be repositioned to their GPS coordinates. Three buoys
were added to the Korth Bay line.

∑ Patricia went out on the lake with the DNR to check for Zebra Mussels.
NONE were found!! They will go out again in the Fall.
