Rock Lake Improvement Assoc. Minutes June 8, 2005

Present: James Colgrove, Stan Simoniewski, Karl Vonderhoe, Katie Traverse, Pete Ebbott, Milt Strauss, Margaret Krueger, Larry Everson

1. Call to order at 7:00 p.m.

2. Secretary Report:

    Report approved with the following corrections:

    .Stan Simoniewski was present

    .Secretary's report: Melissa Ferman will be coordinating lawn soil testing.

    .Long Range Plan for Rock Lake-Patricia: Next long range meeting will be May 25, 7:00 pm at the Library

    .Old Business: e)Suggestion was made to get ph soil tests on at least 10 properties.

    .New Business: Motion and Second to send letter of support to Susan Graham (DNR) for shoreline plantings and gradings in Korth Park. Motion approved.

    .A meeting to update the general public on recent Delavan Lake research may be set up for June l.

3. Treasurer's Report:

    We're OK. 113 members this year versus 139 members last year.

4. Committee Reports:

     PUBLICITY/PUBLIC RELATIONS

     .Milt presented a bill for $173.77 for a display board to be used at RLIA display during Town and Country days.

     .Johanna showed us a sample of the new RLIA T-shirts, $5.50 cost-$10.00 retail-available in red, blue, grey, green

     .Milt requested help for Town and Country days, i.e. building float, staffing the float, w/people dressed in old fashioned and modern swimwear, setting up and staffing RLIA info table and display.

     .Milt said we hoped to be using a truck and trailer from the Glacier Drumlin Trail for our float.

      The committee will decide on a final sign message for float.

    ROCK LAKE JOINT COMMITTEE-Pete

     .No report-A quorum was not present.

    LONG-RANGE PLAN FOR ROCK LAKE-Patricia

     .Patricia was not present. Comments were made regarding the new Jefferson County Zoning ordinances compared to the city of Lake Mills-not stringent; Town of Lake Mills-somewhat stringent.

     ADOPT-A-LAKE-Stan

      .Nothing to report

5. Old Business

     .The meeting for the general public on recent Delavan Lake research will be held at the Lake Mills Community Center on Wed. June 15.

6. New Business

     .Annual meeting will be on Sat. 8-27-05. 10 a.m..

     .June 3, 2005, Wisconsin DNR News Release on "High Water Temps and Spawning Stress- Bacteria Caused Fish Kills Common in Late Spring.
