October Minutes 2007

ROCK LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION                                                              Board Meeting Minutes, Oct. 17, 2007, Lake Mills Municipal Building, 7 p.m.

Present:  Milt Strauss, Margaret Krueger, Johanna Chworowsky, Scott Johnson, Ron Niedfeldt, Stan Smoniewski, Russel Wagner and Tom Pezzi.
Call to Order, Introductions: Russ introduced guest Bob Wardall, new resident of the town of Lake Mills.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the Sept. 19, 2007 meeting were approved.   
Treasurer’s Report:  Jim was absent. Report from Sept. 30, 2007 was read by Milt and accepted, with $441.15 in Lake Management account, $6,062.62 in RLIA Checking Account, and $4,160.41 in RLIA Savings account, for a total of $10,664.18. A motion was later passed for Milt to sign and send a check from Lake Management Account grant money to the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene for $276.75 for sample analysis.
Correspondence: None.

Committee Reports:
Joint Rock Lake Committee:  Stan said chances of getting a grant for the north end parking lot are slim because of competition. Channel testing continues.
Publicity/PR Committee:  Milt said RLIA display at Fall Festival was well received. A motion was approved for RLIA to pay the print set-up costs of approximately $100 for RLIA polo shirts with money from past tee shirt sales. Shirts will be ordered per request and paid for by individual members.
Ongoing Projects: Adopt a Lake – Stan: Planning continues for Clean Boat Clean Water Workshop
Long Range Management Plan for Rock Lake: Possible priorities were discussed for RLIA implementation. Discussion will continue next month.

Other:  Next month’s meeting was changed to Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Milt asked members to attend a Lake Mills Plan Commission meeting on Oct. 23 in regard to a request for a boat house permit.
